This page explains, in plain words, what information alHadiths.com collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. In short: I only collect what is needed to run the site, show ads that keep it free, and reply to you, and I never sell your information.
At a glance
- Who runs this site: Fauzul Bahari, the author of alHadiths.com, based in Malaysia
- What I collect: What you choose to send me (the contact form and comments), plus standard data from analytics, advertising and security tools
- Cookies: Used for Google AdSense ads, Google Analytics, site security and remembering your comment details. See Cookies below for how to control them.
- Selling your data: Never
- Questions or requests: [email protected]
Who I am
alHadiths.com is a personal website that shares authentic hadith, explained simply. It is written and run by me, Fauzul Bahari. You can read more on the About page. When this policy says “I” or “me”, it means me as the person responsible for the site and your information.
Information you give me
- The contact form. When you use the contact form, I receive your name, email address, subject and message. The form is run by the Formidable Forms plugin: your message is saved in the website’s database and sent to my email so I can reply.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, website (if you add one), your comment, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet. Your email address is never shown publicly. A coded version of it (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to show your profile picture if you have one.
- Emails. If you email me directly, I receive your email address and whatever you write.
I use this information only to reply to you, to look after comments, and to correct the site when you report a mistake.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics. I use Google Analytics (through Google’s Site Kit plugin) to see which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, what device and browser they use, and how they found the site. This helps me decide what to write next. It uses cookies and your IP address.
- Security and performance. To keep the site fast and safe, the web host, Cloudflare and the Wordfence security plugin record technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested. These logs are used to block attacks and spam, not to identify you.
- Backups. Copies of the website, including its database, are kept as backups so the site can be restored if something goes wrong.
Advertising: Google AdSense
alHadiths.com shows ads from Google AdSense. The ads help cover the cost of running the site so it can stay free for everyone.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
- To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland see a consent message from Google before personalized ads are shown, where you can accept or decline. To change your choice later, clear this site’s cookies in your browser and the message will appear again.
Other ad partners approved by Google may also serve ads through AdSense. I do not choose individual ads, and I try to keep them unobtrusive and away from the hadith text.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. alHadiths.com uses these kinds:
- Necessary cookies keep the site working and secure: for example, Cloudflare may set a cookie that helps tell real visitors from bots, and site administrators get login cookies.
- Comment cookies. If you leave a comment and tick the box, your name, email and website are saved for one year so you don’t have to type them again.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics (names starting with
_ga) count visits and show how the site is used. - Advertising cookies from Google and its partners, used to show and measure ads, as described above.
- Embedded videos. Some articles include YouTube videos. YouTube may set its own cookies when a page with a video loads or when you play it.
How to control cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (this may stop some features from working), change your ad settings at Google Ads Settings, and stop Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Embedded content and links
Articles may include embedded YouTube videos. An embedded video behaves as if you had visited YouTube itself, and is covered by Google’s privacy policy. Articles also link to sources such as Sunnah.com, Quran.com and HadeethEnc. The share buttons (WhatsApp, Facebook, Pinterest, Telegram and X) are plain links: nothing is sent to those services unless you click one. Once you leave alHadiths.com, the other website’s privacy policy applies.
Who your information is shared with
Only the services named on this page, so they can do their job for the site (hosting, security, spam checks, analytics and ads). I never sell or rent your personal information. I would only share it otherwise if the law required me to.
How long I keep it
- Contact messages and emails: for as long as needed to reply and keep a record of our conversation. You can ask me to delete them at any time.
- Comments: kept with the article they belong to, so the discussion stays readable.
- Analytics data: kept according to Google Analytics’ data retention settings.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example in Malaysia, the EU or the UK), data protection law may give you further rights, and I will do my best to help you use them.
Children
alHadiths.com is written for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and think your child has sent me personal information, please email [email protected] and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
