The Power of Sadaqa (Charity)

The amazing power of giving and forgiveness should never be underestimated. Imagine this for a second, you have abundance and then you give a part of it as Sadaqa striving for the sake of greater good.

That’s the essence of Islamic charity or Sadaqa – a selfless act of giving, not only material but also emotional and spiritual, out of compassion, love, friendship, religious duty or generosity.

It’s a manifestation of one’s humility before the divine and appreciation for the blessings of the Almighty.

It inculcates empathy, fosters a spirit of generosity and promotes forgiveness – a virtue that allows us to let go of grudges and heal. So, Sadaqa goes beyond one-time act of giving, it’s a transformative journey that shapes you into a better individual.

Hadith About The Power of Giving and Forgiveness

He reported God’s messenger as saying, “Sadaqa does not reduce property; God increases the honor of him who forgives another; and no one will humble himself for God’s sake without God exalting him.”

Muslim transmitted it.
